CPP30119 Certificate III in Urban Pest Management reflects the role of pest management technicians who are required to:
Identify common urban pests
Assess pest problems
Consider pest management options
Develop pest management plans
Liaise with customers
Implement pest management strategies.
In most cases, technicians work alone with responsibility for managing chemicals and equipment used for pest management and stored in pest management vehicles.

This qualification may be completed through a combination of Face to Face Classroom learning and workplace based learning, or it may be completed remotely by workplace learning.
Alternatively if a candidate feels that they have sufficient workplace experience and subject knowledge, they may be eligible to complete the Qualification through the Recognition of Prior Learning process. HLTAID011 Provide first aid (may be selected if completing with another provider and providing evidence of completion)

CPPUPM3011 Manage organisms by applying fumigants to commodities and environments
CPCCCM2012 Work safely at heights (may be selected if completing with another provider and providing evidence of completion)

AHCCHM307 Prepare and apply chemicals to control pest, weeds and diseases
Up to 2 elective units may be selected from any training package, as long as they contribute to a valid, industry-supported vocational outcome and maintain the AQF level of this qualification. Candidates would need to discuss this with a Protrain Assessor to determine validity.
