Online / Remote Training for Pre-Construction and Renovation Environments

ProTrain delivers nationally recognised training for those involved in the installation of termite management systems during new construction, renovations, and extensions.
This self-paced online program develops the knowledge and skills required to assess building construction methods and select, prepare, and install the appropriate termite management system to prevent concealed termite entry.

This course provides the practical foundation for pest managers, builders, and technicians who are responsible for pre-construction termite protection in accordance with AS 3660.1 – 2014 and relevant state or territorial regulatory requirements.

Units of Competency

This program includes one nationally recognised unit:

  • CPPUPM3042 – Install termite management systems
    (Previously known as CPPPMT3042 – Install physical termite management systems)

Completion of this unit contributes credit towards the CPP30119 Certificate III in Urban Pest Management.

Program Delivery - 100% Online + Workplace Evidence

This program is delivered entirely online through the ProTrain Student Portal (Axcelerate).
Learning combines structured online modules, workplace evidence collection, and assessor-verified practical assessment.

You’ll complete the program through four connected components:

A. Course Learning & Online Assessments

After enrolment you’ll receive access to:

  • Interactive e-learning content and ProTrain study notes
  • Self-marking quizzes and short instructional videos
  • Reference materials aligned with AS 3660 and building-code requirements

B. Supervised Workplace Training

You must complete on-site practical work under the supervision of a qualified termite-management technician or builder, including:

  • Assessment of site and construction type
  • Selection of compliant systems and materials
  • Installation of physical and/or chemical systems during construction

C. Practical Evidence Submission

Upload:

  • Photographs and/or videos demonstrating installation of termite systems, PPE use, and site compliance
  • Completed site records, system compliance sheets, and safety documentation
  • Evidence should be gathered and uploaded through your ProTrain Student Portal (Axcelerate).

D. Final Online Practical Assessment

After your evidence is verified, you’ll complete a virtual practical assessment with a ProTrain assessor via secure online video call.

You have up to 12 months to complete all components.

Practical Evidence Requirements

To be deemed competent, trainees must demonstrate:

  • Installation of at least ten termite-management systems in different construction types
  • Correct selection and application of materials and equipment
  • Understanding of system compliance and labelling requirements
  • Appropriate use of PPE and WHS compliance
  • Completion of all required documentation and reporting

All evidence is uploaded through the ProTrain Online Portal for assessor review.
