ProTrain Refunds Policy

Refunds

ProTrain will protect fees paid in advance and has a fair and reasonable refund policy. Information provided prior to enrolment or the commencement of training and assessment, whichever comes first, specifies the student’s rights as a consumer, including but not limited to any statutory cooling-off period (where applicable) and the student’s right to obtain a refund:

 

Should ProTrain cancel a course for any reason, students enrolled at the time ProTrain announces the cancellation will be entitled to a full refund, with no administrative charges or penalties.

Refund – After Training has commenced – Full CPP Cert III or Cert IV Qualifications

An application for a refund is addressed according to the amount of training and assessment that has been delivered: ProTrain will encourage the student to return to the training program in the future.

  • Within one (1) month of enrolment – 100% refund of any units not yet commenced, less admin fee of $99.  There will be no refund where a unit has been commenced or completed.
  • Between 1 month and 3 months after the commencement of the traineeship – 50% refund of any units not yet commenced.  There will be no refund where a unit has been commenced or completed.
  • Beyond 3 months after commencement of the traineeship – nil refund

 

A student will be considered to have started a unit with ProTrain when:

    • They access course material for the first time
    • they have been issued usernames and passwords for the course for a period of one month; or
    • the material is posted to them

 

Refund – Prior to Commencing Training – Skillset Workshops

An application for a refund is addressed according to the amount of notice given by the person making the request: The student may discuss the option to return to the same course at a future date with ProTrain.

  • 14 days prior to the commencement of the course – 100% refund, less admin fee of $99
  • Between 13 days and 7 days prior to the course – 75% refund
  • Between 6 days and the commencement of the course – 50% refund
  • No refund will be made once the student has commenced the course

Refund – Online & Distance Based Learning – Skillset

All enrolments received are considered firm enrolments and will be confirmed in writing. All course fees are payable in advance, and the ProTrain will safeguard fees paid by students.

An application for a refund is addressed according to the amount of notice given by the person making the request:

  • Prior to the commencement of the course – 100% refund, less admin fee of $99
  • No refund will be made once the student has commenced the course. A student will be considered to have started a course with ProTrain when:
    • They access course material for the first time
    • they have been issued usernames and passwords for the course for a period of one month; or
    • the material is posted to them

 

Withdrawal due to illness or hardship

In the case of a participant who withdraws from a course or program due to illness or extreme hardship, ProTrain may, at its discretion, allow a refund of the fees. The following conditions apply:

  • The person concerned must produce satisfactory evidence of the circumstances of his/her withdrawal, such as medical certificates.
  • Any refund will be processed less an admin fee of $99
  • Withdrawal must take place prior to the expiration of the allocated time for the course. 

 

Course Extension Policy

ProTrain will not be obliged under any circumstances to extend the period of a student’s enrolment if the student has not completed the course in the allocated time.

 

Once the allocated time for a given course has expired, the student will no longer be allowed to access the course material. Should a student contact ProTrain prior to the expiry of their relevant course time, citing the reasons why they cannot complete the course on time, ProTrain may, at its discretion, allow an extension of time and a minimum of $250 rebooking fee will be charged.

 

Students contacting ProTrain after the expiry of the allocated time will be assessed on a case-by-case basis, however, should an extension be given, a minimum of a $250 rebooking fee will be charged.

Transfer of Registration

Course participants for any course can transfer their registration to another individual without penalty, under the condition that they notify ProTrain before the commencement of the course.

 

Once the course has commenced applications for transfers or deferment will be considered by ProTrain on a case-by-case basis. Such discretion will not be unreasonably withheld.

 

In the event that the program was funded by the employer:

    • The employer is the named employer on the original enrolment documentation.
    • The course fees associated with units of competence that have not been commenced can be transferred to another individual.  There will be no refund where a unit has been completed or commenced. 
    • If the employer chooses to transfer to another staff member, the employer will be invoiced the course fee less the sum of the units not completed or commenced.
    • An administration fee of $99 will apply.
    • The new student will have to complete the application process and provide evidence as to how they meet any required pre-requisites to commence the course of study.
    • Transfer of fees between employees must be completed within three (3) months of the cancellation or non-participation.

ProTrain may change this Policy at any time at our absolute discretion by posting the revised Policy on this website.  It is your responsibility to review the terms of this Policy regularly.
