This workshop focuses on the skills and knowledge required to install termite management systems to manage subterranean termites in premises at the pre-construction and renovation / extension stage. It includes assessing methods of construction of different premises as well as applying techniques required to prevent termites gaining concealed access to a completed construction. This program requires candidates to select equipment, materials and methods suitable to the type of termite management system and construction.

The unit is CPPUPM3042 — install termite management systems. You'll learn to assess building construction methods and select, prepare and install the right termite management system to prevent concealed termite entry, in line with AS 3660. Topics include construction methods, subterranean termite ecology, physical and chemical systems, reading plans, WHS, and compliance and record-keeping.
How is it delivered?+
You can study 100% online through our student portal with supervised workplace training, or attend a face-to-face workshop. Either way you complete online learning, supervised on-site practical work, an evidence upload, and a final practical assessment. You have up to 12 months to complete.
What evidence do I need to provide?+
You'll need to demonstrate installation of at least ten termite management systems across different construction types, correct selection and application of materials, understanding of system compliance and labelling, appropriate PPE and WHS compliance, and complete documentation. Evidence is uploaded through the ProTrain portal for assessor review.
Does it count toward a full qualification?+
Yes — it contributes credit toward CPP30119 Certificate III in Urban Pest Management.
